How To Use Tesla Companion

Welcome to your all-in-one Tesla toolkit. Here's a guide to get you started:

Camera Viewer

Load Clips: Click the "Select Directory" button and choose your main `TeslaCam` folder from your USB drive. The app will automatically find and group all video events.
Navigate Events: Use the dropdown or navigation buttons to move between events.
Playback: Use the main playback controls to play, pause, skip, and scrub through the combined video clips for an event.
Jump to Event: If an event was triggered, a "Jump to Event" button will appear.
View Location: If the event contains GPS data, a "Event Map" button will appear.
Grid Screenshots: Use the "Screenshot" button in the top controls to download a single, high-quality image stitching all visible camera feeds together.

Charging Time Estimator

Enter Details: Input your vehicle's original battery capacity, your current and target battery percentage, and the efficiency of your charger.
Select Charger: Choose from common charger types (Mobile, Level 2, Supercharger) or select "Custom" to input specific voltage and amperage.
Calculate: Click the button to get an estimate of how long your charging session will take.

Phantom Drain Estimator

Vehicle State: Enter your current battery percentage and the percentage you expect it to drain to. Add your battery's current health and the outside temperature for a more accurate calculation.
Select Features: Check the boxes for any power-consuming features you plan to leave active (like Sentry Mode or Cabin Overheat Protection).
Calculate: The tool will estimate how long your battery will last under the selected conditions.

Camera Indexes

The event.json file references cameras by a number. Here is the mapping used by this application:

Event Reasons

The reason field in the event file indicates what triggered the recording. Here are some common reasons:

Reason Code	Description
`sentry_aware_object_detection`	Sentry Mode detected an object or movement nearby.
`user_interaction_dashcam_icon_tapped`	You manually triggered a Dashcam recording by tapping the icon on the screen.
`sentry_locked_handle_pulled`	Sentry Mode detected someone pulling on a door handle while the car was locked.
`user_interaction_honk`	You manually triggered a Dashcam recording by honking the horn.
